Whatever it is that brings you to visit, we want to make sure you are comfortable and able to enjoy your time. We love our property and Morgan Hill! We live in a safe neighborhood with plenty of tree lined streets. There is a walking/bike path and a shopping center just down the road. The lovely downtown, offering many dining options, is 2 miles north on Monterey Road. Come visit during one of the local events, ie) Mushroom Mardi Gras, Taste of Morgan Hill, Gilroy Garlic Fesival etc. Manresa State Beach is about an hour away. We enjoy going there because it is close, beautiful and not crowded. We are surrounded by picturesque topography, which means hiking, mountain biking or picture taking is within minutes at Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Park. As for the road cyclist, there are gorgeous "back roads" or the Coyote Creek Bike Path that rides north to San Jose. We are surrounded by The Santa Clara Wine Trail, so wine tasting is within minutes from us. I will add that the wine is very good and it is worth visiting several vineyards, if time permits. If golf is your sport, there are several options; Coyote Creek Golf Club just outside of Morgan Hill, Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in south San Jose, and the renowned, private golf resort CordeValle. Or you might just want to stay, enjoy a book and beverage on our patio and we welcome this as well. Our hope is that the slower pace in Morgan Hill and our peaceful home, will help you unwind.

Our year-round farmers market is every Saturday 9am-1pm, 3 blocks away at the Caltrain station parking lot where you can find delicious prepared food, pastries & awesome local produce from the surrounding agricultural region. Grab the provided picnic bag & winery map in the foyer & head for the hills! The Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail, California’s oldest premium wine region, is just 7 miles away. You’ll have over 32 wineries to choose from & will love the rolling hills, beautiful vineyard views & reasonably priced tastings (ranging from$10-$30 & some are free!) You may meet the winemaker pouring your tasting. If your visiting in March or September, consider purchasing a Wine Passport at The Wineries of Santa Clara Valley website & enjoy a tasting at all available wineries in that month for just $50. If your into craft beer, Kelly Brewing 1 block over on 4th St is a must! They’re our newest brewery with BBQ on site & often have live music. Also don’t miss The Running Shop & Hops set in an old granary building a few blocks away with 86 beers on tap! They have a game room & often a food truck on site. Inside the home, the first floor has original hardwoods & beautiful natural lighting. Off the foyer is a cozy living room with streaming TV & gas fireplace. The dining nook seats 4 & a queen bedroom is just off the dining area. Board games can be found in dining room cabinet. A full kitchen seats 4 at the counter & you'll find plenty of glassware / dining essentials in the cabinets. Off the kitchen is an off limits home office, the door has a privacy sign on it. Past the kitchen is the downstairs bathroom with soaps/shampoos provided as well as stackable washer & dryer available for use. The backyard entertaining space has 10ft privacy walls covered in lush green landscaping and a raised goldfish pond. The lounge space may be covered as Morgan Hill gets very dusty, please feel free to remove the cover and enjoy the lounge area! 3 queen bedrooms have comfy memory foam beds & the softest sheets. Extra linens and towels are in the closets. House keys & instructions are on the dressers to help you with heating / cooling & general how-to’s for Amazon Echo, the gas fire pit, etc. There is no central a/c but the house is well insulated & stays cool even in summer. Common area windows should be opened overnight & closed in the morning to cool down the house. If this doesn’t happen the house may become warm. Each room has a heater & a/c unit to help keep you comfortable as well. The downstairs wall furnace on the dining room wall is the most efficient way to warm the house. Please note we have 2 cats. The black/white one, Figgy, is shy & likely won’t make an appearance during your stay. Nermal however, the white one, will likely try to enter the house as he’s an indoor/outdoor cat. Allow him if you'd like, but he's also perfectly fine to be left outside as they have plenty of fresh water and automatic feeders in the backyard. It has one queen bedroom with an en-suite bathroom (with walk-in shower). There is a second bedroom with two antique twin beds. Additional sleeping options include a futon in the dining room and a queen air mattress stored in the Master Bedroom closet. The Cottage also has a full kitchen, living room (with gas fireplace!), and dining room. Guests love the privacy and quiet at The Cottage. Enjoy a view of the gardens from every window. When making a reservation, please provide the names of all registered guests. Only registered guests will be allowed on the property unless prior arrangements have been made with the host at least 48 hours before check in. Cyclists love our neighborhood for the challenging hills and breathtaking scenery. Take a bike ride along the back roads leading to Calero Reservoir and South San Jose/Almaden Valley, which gives you access to Quicksilver Park. Local festivities include Morgan Hill's Mushroom Mardi Gras (May 26-27, 2018) and the world-famous Gilroy Garlic Festival (July 27-29, 2018).
